Detailed Narrative Description of Project & Services Provided:

The main purpose of this project is the development and pretesting of training materials for the field staff of the UNICEF-assisted water and sanitation projects in
Sindh. These include:
- Assistant Directors
- Social Mobilizers
- Union Council Secretaries
- Assistant Engineers
- Planning Officers
- Village Development Organizations
- Handpump Caretakers
- Primary School Teachers
The three-tier training system being developed has master trainers at the apex, field staff in the middle and the community at thebase
(handpump caretaker, village organizations and NGOs)
Output :
Training modules being developed include:
- The Project
- Hygiene Education
- Latrine Promotion and Construction
- Organization-building and Institutionalization
- Community Participation and Mobilizations
- Communication Skills for Community Participation and Hygiene Education
- Technical Module for Engineers
- Supervision and Monitoring of Facilities and Services
- Organization of Training and Training Cycle
- Handpump Maintenance and Repair
These will incorporate visual materials and training aids, as well as standard modules for
trainers.
