Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
The livelihood and traditional life style of people that are dependent on the lake is severely threatened. Urgent steps are needed for protecting and rehabilitating Manchar Lake and its dependent economy. This study is an effort to understand the issues of environment degradation, poverty, society, economy and social development (particularly education), which impact upon the lives of local communities.
The study consists on four volumes:
- Executive Summary with Conclusion
- Main Report
- Annexes
- Supporting Material
A media pack had been prepared to inform the general public of the urgent need to solve the problems of Manchar Lake and its people. A team of 74 data collectors used in extensive field work during data collection.
