  • ZIA NIAZI 
    Managing Director, Raasta Marketing Research (RMR)
     

    With a Masters degree from the University of Karachi, Ms Niazi is currently Managing Director, at Raasta Marketing Research (RMR and an Associate of Raasta Development Consultants (RDC). Involved in developing, conducting and reporting on qualitative and quantitative marketing research studies as well as developing policies, strategies and programmes based on the output of these studies. She also has wide experience in education and training, including development of modules and training materials, the conducting of workshops and evaluation of training and educational materials and programmes. She is an Executive Member of the Book Group, where she is involved in developing reading and training materials in Urdu for primary and secondary school children. She was a faculty member of the Department of International Relations, University of Karachi where, besides giving lectures, she helped develop the curriculum and mode of evaluation for the M.A. courses.

  • SHAZIA USMAN ILAHI
    Coordinator (RMR)Data Processing & Analysis Unit
     

    With a Bachelors degree in Economics from Mount Holyoke College (U.S.A), Ms Ilahi is Coordinator, Data Processing and analysis Unit at Raasta Marketing Research and a Research Associate of Raasta Development Consultants. She specialises in research, data processing and financial management. Her expertise includes analysing of financial status of companies, industry analysis, evaluating financial projections, budgeting and forecasting, economic research and analysis. She has extensive writing and research experience. She has been involved in credit analysis, mobilisation of resources from financial institutions, management and interpersonal skills, and related themes.

  • IFTIKHAR AHMED CHANNA 
    Coordinator, Field Unit South
     

    With a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Sindh, Mr Channa coordinates data collection, data processing and report writing of field based surveys in the southern part of Pakistan (the provinces of Sindh and Baluchistan). His responsibilities include the identification, training and supervision of data collectors and quality control at all levels of data acquisition, as well as tabulation, data compilation and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative studies. He has worked on a wide range of studies in reproductive health, education, rural development, education, poverty, gender issues and othrs.

  • SIRAJUDDIN KHAN
    Organizational Support Associate
     

    Mr. Khan has been associated with Raasta for the past 11 years. He is responsible for smooth functioning of the office in terms of maintenance and development, expansion and consolidation. He also facilitates the servicing and repairs of all office equipment and household effects.

  • Amir Ali Khan
    Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Officer
     

    With a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (BSC) from International University, Karachi, Mr Amir Ali Khan is GIS Officer at Raasta Development Consultants. He is responsible for Raasta's Geographical Information System(GIS) and his work includes design and development of detailed digitalized maps on different research studies, inputting data from GPS systems and sattelite material, and incorporating other information as necessary. A large part of his work is for Lake Resources Inc, an associate of Raasta that has its headquarters in Australia.

  • ZAHRA RAHIM
    Training and Capacity Building
     

    With a Master degree in Human Resource Department from the University of Manchester (UK), an MBA from IBA, University of Karachi, and a Diploma in Training Management from England, Ms Rahim is a long-term associate of Raasta, specialising in Human Resource Development. Her expertise includes financial organization, design, management, and delivery of training programmes, as well as research and evaluation. She has extensive experience of organizational development, development of financial systems, training, management (including financial management). She has designed and conducted numerous programmes on enterpreneurship development, small business development, financial management, mobilization of resources for social development, health and reproductive health, management and interpersonal skills, and related themes.

  • NASIR ALI PANHWAR
    Institutional & Community Development
     

    With a Masters degree in Sociology from the University of Sindh, Mr Panhwar is currently working with IUCN. He has a long association with Raasta and has worked on numerous Raasta studies and programmes. His expertise includes development of village institutions, design and implementation of rural appraisal of village organizations, conducting research in a range of development themes, particularly rural development. He has vast experience of working with NGOs/ CBOs, national and international development agencies in different capacities. Mr Panhwar is a writer of articles on environment and developmental issues published in number of papers, journals and periodicals.

  • MOHMMAD MIAN MEMON
    Community Development

    With a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Sindh and several years of teaching, training and research experience, Mr Memon is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Sindh, Jamshoro. His expertise is in community development, rural development, education and training, as well as in field studies. He has worked on several projects with Raasta and is currently involved in one of Raasta's most innovative partnership based programme in rural Sindh.

  • NASIR KANSI
    Rural Finance and Micro-Enterprise Development
     

    With an M.Com. degree from the University of Balochistan, Ms Kansi is a rural finance and micro-enterprise development associate of Raasta. He has vast experience in training and conducting workshops to administer rural finance operations, micro credit, and rural development through community participation and management skills.

  • MERAJ HUMAYUN KHAN
    Associate, NWFP


    With a Masters degree in English Language from the University of Peshawar, Ms Meraj Humayun Khan has wide experience in the fields of community development, education, health, nutrition and emergency management, and micro-enterprise development especially for women. Founder and president of De Laas Gul, a non-government organization based in Peshawar, Ms Humnyun Khan is an active social development associate of Raasta, particularly for field-based research and other projects in the province of NWFP. Ms Humanyun Khan acts as Raasta's representative in NWFP, as and when needed.

  • UMBER SIDDIQI
    Research and Training


    With a Masters degree in Social Policy for Health and Education from the University of Oxford, Ms Siddiqi's main areas of interest include research and training in the education, nutrition and health sectors. She has worked on several research and evaluation studies undertaken by Raasta. Her special areas of expertise include documentation and analysis of HRD and field-based social development projects, as well as conducting and reporting on qualitative and quantitative research studies related to marketing.

  • GULSHAN MAZNANI
    Community Development


    With Masters degrees in Sociology and English from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Ms Maznani specialties include mobilization and motivation of women, rural development and education. She has extensive experience of working in the rural areas of Sindh and a special interest in using participatory approaches. She has worked on Raasta teams on several important pilot projects and research studies.

  • HAFEEZA ISMAIL
    Community Development


    With Masters degrees in Sociology and Economics from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Ms Ismail's expertise includes rural development, sociological research and monitoring. She has extensive experience of participatory community-based approaches in rural Sindh, particularly in the area of organizing rural women, educating and motivating them and planing with communities. Ms Ismail has worked on Raasta teams on several important pilot projects and research studies.

  • SORAYYA KHAN
    Public health and social development professional


    Ms Sorayya Khan is a Public health and social development professional with an MPH from….and a…from Imperial College, London. She has research and training experience in the fields of primary health care, nutrition education, nutrition vulnerability in emergency settings, women's development. Based in London and Rome, Ms Khan has project experience in several countries (including Italy, Pakistan, UK, Burkina Faso) in research, analysis, facilitating workshops, report-writing and team management.

  • MUNNAL SOHAIL ALISHAN
    Representative at Islamabad


    With a Ms. in Anthropology, Quaid-eAzam University, Islamabad, and a Masters in Business Administration from Preston University, Islamabad, Ms Alishan is Raasta's Representative at Islamabad. With interest and experience in anthropological, sociological and marketing research studies, Ms Alishan is also involved in managing research studies, coordinating workshops and liaison with federal, UN and international agencies.

  • Dr. RAZIA NIAZI
    Regular Advisor


    With a PhD from the University of Edinburough, Ms Niazi has recently retired as the head of the Geography department from the University of Karhi, With extensive experience of teaching, research and curriculum development, MS Niazi is a regular advisor to Raasta, particularly in the areas of environmental, urban and water-related research.

  • ABDUL GHAFFAR PIRZADA 
    Regular Advisor


    With extensive experience of work in the publicsector, Mr Pirzada embodies a work of knowledge and experience in rural development, agriculture, water issues and related areas in Sindh. With two Mastrers degrees in Economic and Agronomy, Mr Pirzada is currently Chief Economis t to the Government of Sindh. He is a regular advisor to Raasta on research studies and participatory rural development pilot programmes.

  • NASEER ASLAM KHAN 


    With a PhD in Geography and Masters degree in Population and Economic Development, Ms Aslam Khan has worked for many years in the UN system, including UNICEF Pakistan and UNESCAP Thailand. She has worked in several countries and has extensive experience of teaching, research, policy development and inter-country cooperation in a range of geograhical, demographic and developmental areas. Ms Khan is currently based in Toronto, Canada.

  • SHAHNAZ IMAM
    Reproductive Health


    With a Masters in Social Work from the University of Karachi, Ms Imam is currently managing a reproductive health NGO in Karachi, She is along tern associate of raasta who collaborates on training programmes, research studies and related aeas, expeically in the health, nutrition and reproductive health areas.

  • NAHIDA SAFDAR
    Reprentative in Baluchistan


    Speaking several Pakistani languages, Ms Safdar is a gender specialist who has over 20 years of experience in developing and implementing programmes about, with and for women, especially in the underdeveloped rural areas of Baluchistan. She has worked with Raasta on numerous studies and acts as its reprentative in Baluchistan as and when needed.

  • Dr MOHAMMAD ASLAM KHAN

    With a doctrate in ….Dr Aslam Khan currently heads the environmental unit at UNESCAP, Bangkok, where his main responsibility is to bring out the comprehensive 'State of theEnvironment Report for the Asia Pacific Region'. With extensive experience of teaching, research and writing, Dr Khan has worked in several countries of the world and regularly contributes to international debates on environment, population. Ecopnomic and social development and related areas.

  • ABDUL KARIM SHAIKH

    Mr Shaikh has worked for the past 20 years in the public sector, in rural development and community-based approaches to water and sanitation. Well versed in rural societal norms and rural agri-based economy, Mr Shaikh is a long term associate of Raasta.

  • ALTAF ABRO

    With an MSc in Rural Regional Development and Planning from AIT in Bangkok, Mr Abro is currently senior resercher at theSindh Studies Development Centre, Jamshoro. With extensive experience in socio-economic development, environemtnal studies, and participatory approaches, Mr Abro has workedwith Raasta on several key research studies and pilot projects.

  • HANIF SIDDIQUI

    Mr Hanif Siddiqui has a MSc in Environmental Engineering from Britain and vast experience of work in civil engineering, water supply, sanitation and distributive systems. Currentl;y teaching at ISRA University, Hyderabad, his expertise includes teaching, training, developing modules, as well as evaluation and asesment studies. He has worked on several Raasta training programmes and evaluation studies.

  • SAMINA RAZA

    Ms Samina Raza is an artist who, among other accomplishments, specializes in arts and crafts aimed at educating children. She has illustrated and given creative inputs to numerous pilot projects and educational outputs and has also been the design consultant for Raasta's publications.

  • JIM CALVERINO

    Jim Calverino is one of Australia's leading geologists, with extensive experience of work across the world. His company Lake…,is an assocaite of Raasta. Mr calverino advises raasta on updating its GIS technology and better utilising sattelite based data for its work.
